Orbit smears
Technically not an orbit smear in the same sense as the other pictures in this category. Instead of iteration interpolation this technique uses perturbation in a somewhat unconventional manner to produce the spiraling iteration "tails" for the thirty-three minibuddhas in the image (six more are outside the frame). The orbit spirals converging on the minibuddhas have thirteen arms corresponding to the sub-period of the originating minibrot and there are thirteen groups consisting of three minibuddhas each — three being the period of the "parent" bulb of the minibrot.
The period-3 parent also makes itself manifest in the alternating luminosities of the minibuddhas at the outer edges of the main spiral arms.
