Holobuddha
Buddhabrot
A standard Buddhabrot as far as the shape goes, but the coloring mode is slightly different than usual. The coloring parameter is still calculated per-point, but the parameter used is "distance of the zₙ from c" with some extra modulation. This modulated distance value is then used to pick a color from a gradient color map for the rendered point.
The main consequence of this coloring scheme is that the Mandelbrot shape that is embedded (and usually lost) within the Buddhabrot is subtly highlighted. This is because the Mandelbrot outline is where the distance between zₙ and c is zero for all orbits. You can see a not-so-subtle modulation of the same color parameter in another image.
