This video visualizes Buddhabrot orbit dynamics originating from a slowly turning and growing sampling slice. The slice (shaped like a circle sector) starts out aligned with the negative real axis — resulting in thin dendrite dynamics. As the slice turns counter-clockwise the initially real-valued dynamics become complex-valued, and because of the nature of complex multiplication the slice quickly assumes a whirlpoolish nature under iteration — the eye of the whirlpool shifts according to the dominant mode of orbit dynamics when the animation progresses. While the sampling sector rotates it also grows in (angular) size eventually growing to a solid disk, at which point the previously hinted at Buddhabrot becomes fully visible.
